Mr Md Sabbir Hossain

Labour Lawyer, Development Professional

Md. Sabbir Hossain is a labour lawyer and development professional with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Law from the University of Dhaka. He has over a decade of experience working with the labour movement in Bangladesh and across South Asia in various capacities.

Sabbir has designed, implemented, and managed programmes on labour rights with organizations such as the Solidarity Center, the International Lawyers Assisting Workers Network (ILAW), the International Labour Organization (ILO), and 3F – United Federation of Workers. He has also provided technical advice and support to multiple trade union federations, confederations, and worker rights organizations across the region.

His work focuses on organizational development, strategic planning, programme design, grant writing, research, and policy advocacy, alongside training and capacity-building initiatives for workers and trade unions. He brings a strong combination of legal expertise and grassroots engagement, particularly in advancing the rights of workers in both formal and informal sectors.
